LightWatch Premium unlocks unlimited feeds and every paid feature. Here are some problems you might run into.

Restore purchases

  1. From the Home tab, tap the More menu in the top right.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Unlock Premium.
  4. Tap Restore Purchases at the bottom of the screen.

Restore Purchases didn’t find anything

Restoring purchases checks the Apple Account signed in on the device. If you received a Nothing to Restore message, that account has no LightWatch purchase on it. Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Media & Purchases to see which account you’re using. If it isn’t the one you made your purchase with, be sure to sign in with the correct account and restore again.

I was charged but Premium isn’t unlocked

Apple sometimes takes the payment a moment before the confirmation reaches LightWatch. Wait a few minutes, then tap Restore Purchases. You will not be charged twice. If Premium still hasn’t unlocked an hour later, send me a message with roughly when you bought it and which plan you chose, so I can find the purchase on Apple’s side and see what happened to it.

LightWatch Premium is enabled on one device but not another

LightWatch Premium is associated with the Apple Account that paid for it. Double check that you’ve signed into the App Store with the correct account.

Someone in my family bought LightWatch Premium but I don’t have it

LightWatch Premium is shared through Family Sharing. Apple can take up to an hour to pass a shared subscription along to everyone else in the group, so it may not appear the moment they buy it.

Lifetime vs Annual

Both tiers are the same. Annual creates recurring income for me, the developer. Lifetime is there for the folks that hate subscriptions and is based on the average number of years people pay for subscriptions. If you use it longer than that, you get a deal. If you use it less, I get extra income. It’s up to you.

If you purchase the Lifetime tier after activating the Annual subscription, be sure to cancel your Annual subscription, otherwise you will continue to be charged. To do this, open your subscriptions in the App Store, or open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions.

Refunds and cancelling

Apple handles refunds and cancelling, because Apple is who takes the payment. I wish I could make this process easier for you, but I have no control, unfortunately.

To stop an annual subscription renewing, open your subscriptions in the App Store, or open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. LightWatch Premium keeps working until the period you already paid for runs out. To ask for a refund, sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple Account you bought with.

If you would like a refund because the app isn’t what you expected — I get it, no hard feelings. If you’re having issues with the app, or you find it confusing, I’d love to hear from you so I can improve the app.

Still having issues? Send me a message. Let me know what happened and which device you’re on, and I’ll do my best to help.
